Neal Sawyer is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer that documents the exploration of the human soul.

Neal worked with remarkable focus and tenacity until he felt ready to release his music to the world.

 

This is a solo project in every sense. Neal writes, records and plays all instruments on his recordings. Drawing upon a wide range of influences, Neal adopts a forensic approach to his music; endless hours of revisiting and re-recording, continually exploring, experimenting and self-tutoring.

The recording of his debut solo album 'Ballads of the Mortal' is an extraordinary achievement. Yet one that was always going to reach its conclusion due to sheer resolve.

 

There were enough setbacks - despite the flooding of his recording space and the late-night burglars who disrupted a recording session, the intrinsic desire to create was too powerful. 

 

This album represents Neal Sawyer facing his vulnerability head-on. It's a forlorn yet enthusiastic, insecure yet mature record, pleading for understanding.

 

On his persistent and lonely hunt for hope, he may just have created something of great significance that will resonate with us all.
